If y'all have ever wondered why #teachers just can't call in sick, yesterday I had a family emergency and called out. I spent over an hour preparing everything in a Slides presentation and even had the peace of mind to get a sub who I knew and trusted.

So glad I pay for Hulu/Disney+ so that my toddler can watch 4-5 commercial cuts in 30-minute Frosty the Snowman. Really wanna make sure he gets that dose of capitalism

There's this thing going on in #education lately where kids don't retain anything. I teach 6th and it's easy to think, "why aren't the prior teachers teaching this stuff?"
I was in a 2nd grade classroom recently and she had the exact same poster on capitalization as I have in my room

As #parents and #teachers, we set boundaries.
When a child crosses that boundary, we give fitting consequences that increase in severity with repeat transgressions.
They may make us feel bad or mean, but it's what they need in order to learn. Enough of this fear of upsetting someone.

I was at a training on vocab instruction and the Matthew Effect came up.
Kids who enter school with a high vocab are able to learn new words more easily. Those with lower vocab have a harder time learning more, so the gap widens.

Yes we're both educators, but that's not why our 2yo knows all his letters and sounds in 2 languages. No fancy secret strategies.
We just give him access to books, talk about letters and numbers everywhere we see them, and show enthusiasm about learning these things.

Is anyone else constantly fighting with #google storage space? It's oddly inconsistent (see screenshots taken days apart) and no matter how much I delete it never seems to go down except for random temporary big jumps. Is it a bug? Are they lying to sell storage space??

I'm thinking there's a strong likelihood they're all hiding the Epstein list because there are more of them than just Trump on it, and they're all the most senior people who are able to leverage the others...
