Finding The Fairly OddParents on the Sidewalk
Almost walking past a closed ice cream shop's seating area, I was suddenly captivated by a pair of chairs in a vibrant green and purple that instantly reminded me of Cosmo and Wanda from the Fairly OddParents. What began as a moment of nostalgic recognition turned into a creative challenge, as I worked to capture the magical essence of these cartoon-inspired colors through a carefully composed bird's-eye view photograph.

An Ode to the Ordinary
Perched at the tip of an iron arched fence sits a small, simple ball—an unremarkable sphere that becomes extraordinary through its contrast with the intricate, spade-shaped designs surrounding it. By using a shallow depth of field, I transformed this singular point of simplicity into a focal point, allowing the surrounding details to melt into a soft blur that highlights the beauty of minimalism.

A nurse straight up said to me “Damn, you’re so beautiful. Look at your skin” and all I could do is smile like an idiot because I was so caught off guard 🙃

Preset Experiments and The Practice of Restraint
Ever accidentally stumble into a creative breakthrough or philosophical experiment? This mini-series of Tiger Lilly’s started as a random experiment to test out some retro presets but turned into something slightly more interesting. This little test quickly became a more in-depth look at how I typically approach photography. Shifting away from my old “spray and pray” method to something more intentional. These three almost-identical-but-not-quite lily shots became an opportunity for understanding how tiny edits can completely shift an image's vibe. Instead of trying to achieve perfection, I strive to try and capture something more authentic and real, imperfections and all. Think of it as discovering beauty in unrefined moments, where technical precision intersects with authentic artistic expression, whether accidental or intentional.

The Photo I Didn’t Plan to Take
After spending some time fixated on frames, I noticed a nice cathedral in the distance and I instantly envisioned the shot: this beautiful old cathedral, perfectly framed by the surrounding trees and lampposts. But as any photographer knows, the image you have in your mind doesn't always align with reality. I walked around, trying every angle I could think of, but I just couldn't find a composition that I was happy with.

Finding the Frame

Each photograph is a moment stolen from time – a personal interpretation of the world around me, where ordinary scenes transform into extraordinary memories through the power of composition.

I'm drawn to the subtle uniqueness of flowers, finding beauty in their individual characteristics that often go unnoticed at first glance. Each flower tells a story, standing out like a distinct individual in a crowd, compelling me to capture its singular essence. No matter the assignment, I always find myself drawn to that one special flower that catches my eye and demands to be remembered.

The Accidental Sculpture
In the quiet choreography of urban landscapes, where bicycles often fade into the background like forgotten punctuation marks, there exists a rare moment of unexpected poetry: a suspended bicycle that transforms an ordinary fence into an impromptu canvas of urban art. What begins as a simple act of securing a bike becomes an unintentional sculpture, a fleeting testament to the beauty that can emerge from the most mundane of daily rituals.
