I'm rewatching The Wire. A character in the episode I'm watching says, "A lie ain't a side of the story. It's just a lie." For some reason, that speaks to me these days (as do a million other lines from the show.)

My friend just called, crying. It seems her cousin, a gay man living in Calif, just rec’d a letter from our gov’t telling him he is no longer approved to rec the medication he needs for his AIDS related illness. Rx he’s taken almost 15 yrs. Reason? “You r gay.You need to go die.” For real.

@dylanmulvaney.bsky.social Dear Dylan, just watched you on CBS. You are a lovely person and I hate where this country is. I pray there can still be change. I’m so sorry, for all of us.

Reagan cut the education budget by 65%. Now 60% of
Americans are at a 5th Grade level. 1 in 3 of these are reading & writing at an 8 year old level. No critical literacy skills. They haven't progressed from concrete to abstract thinking. They are vulnerable to advertising & amygdala hijacks.

I’m sitting on my couch, watching a snow storm roll in, and I’m shaking. I’m so scared for us all right now. Can’t eat, hardly sleep. If I lose my social security, I’m finished. Newly widowed, everything is surreal. Please please say something hopeful. For all.

If anyone believes for one second that Hunter would not be EXTRA punished when the new administration takes over, you're absolutely deaf to everything the GOP and Project 2025 had said. Joe did the right thing.

I give 0 fucks Joe pardoned Hunter. After what Trump and his loathsome cronies have done? Shut the fuck up and sit the fuck down. 😒

Rep. Dan Goldman: "I find it pretty ironic and hypocritical that so many Republicans have seemed to find the rule of law when it comes to Joe Biden's pardoning of Hunter, and are happily ignorant of the rule of law when it comes to Donald Trump and everything he has done."

Dems/media condemning Joe for pardoning Hunter right after a psycho who has spent 4 years ranting that he was going to go after him is the most toxic kind of phony virtue signaling imaginable. Don’t forget to pat yourselves on the back from your perches on the moral high ground.

Pete Hegseth, you in danger. A damning and well documented report by The New Yorker raises serious, disqualifying evidence from Hegseth’s sordid past of financial mismanagement, public intoxication and sexual predation. Link to my write up in the replies.

BREAKING: Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett congratulates Joe Biden for pardoning his son Hunter from a "completely political" prosecution: "Way to go Joe!"

She shredded MAGA as hypocrites because Trump is a "34-count convicted felon" with a Cabinet full of sexual predators.

THIS NEW YORKER PIECE IS STUNNING!

Pete Hegseth has no business being in charge of defense when the military is dealing with an ongoing issue of sexual assault against women. This is some next level shit.

Not a wow. He's wrong. Biden did what was necessary, and I don't blame him one bit. He is not required to sacrifice his son any longer to the whims of a rightwing hellbent on destroying their family. Enough is enough.

The day America decided to ignore Jared Kushner's $2 billion from the Saudis, and put an insurrection-inciting convicted felon back in the White House, is the day I stopped giving a shit about any "moral high ground."

I hope President Biden takes his "presidential immunity" out for a fucking spin.

I don’t think the Hunter Pardon even needs to be compared to Trump’s corrupt pardons to justify it. The charges against Hunter were extremely rare, and they only happened after Trump and House GOP publicly attacked Weiss for offering a plea deal.

It's probably not a good day to remind people that Trump's son in law walked away from his White House gig with $2 billion from the Saudis.

I'll wait until you're finished being mad at Joe pardoning Hunter for being his son.

Head of the DOD is managing 3 Million plus people
The piece has tons of devastating details about Hegseth's many, many disqualifying personal traits, but we shouldn't overlook the parts about how he has repeatedly mismanaged every single organization he's led and been driven out of job after job for utter incompetence.
Yikes. A racist, drunken, sexual predator. "A different former employee described Hegseth being at a bar in the early-morning hours of May 29, 2015, while on an official tour through Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, drunkenly chanting “Kill All Muslims! Kill All Muslims!” www.newyorker.com/news/news-de...

I hope everyone is paying close attention to how the Hunter Biden pardon is being covered.

If you wondered why Trump and his cronies can betray America and commit ceaseless crimes for years without consequences but Democrats can't right obviously partisan wrongs, the current media reaction is why.
