90% of coaching is helping people get out of their own way.

Do you want to perform at your best? Get out of your own way. Ego, fear of failure, status anxiety, a focus on the external instead of the internal.

I don’t know the exact number of people that attended the last Alberta separatist rally, but it was fewer than the 456, 365 people who signed the Forever Canadian petition.

Show up
Work hard
Strive for consistency over perfection
Find joy in the activity itself
Go on the journey with friends
Play the long game, instead of chasing short term results

Do that and you'll end up pretty dang good at whatever it is you are doing.

Chasing outcomes is often a recipe for disappointment.

When you focus on the process, you can find success even if the outcome isn't what you expected.

Do the small things each day & you'll develop better habits that will help you reach your goal in the long run.

Much of our society seems to reward the loud and outspoken. Be loud, dogmatic, and controversial and you get an audience. Taking 'extreme' stances gets clicks, likes, and news appearances.

Being kind boosts mental health more than seeking joy.

Evidence: Doing 3 random acts of kindness a week is enough to reduce depression, anxiety & loneliness. It's more beneficial than doing nice things for yourself.

Self-care feels good, but generosity builds lasting bonds.

You don’t need the perfect sleep score.
You don’t need to fear the occasional Chick-fil-A sandwich.

You need to show up, even when conditions aren’t perfect.

The myth of perfection is making us weaker, not better.

Perfectionism trains our brains to freak out.

That's often not the case.

We are our most dedicated when we are having fun and experiencing joy

We often create teams & cultures devoid of joy in the misplaced notion that seriousness means we are more committed. It doesn't

The best coaches seek out wisdom from others.

Fiercely guarding your "secrets" backfires. Coaching comes from conversation. The more smart thinkers you're talking to, the clearer your thinking will be.
