Next time you think your city is all out of room for development, look around and notice the parking lots. 49 units (20% affordable) plus retail space will be built on a piece of land that now contains just 16 parking spots. And it's still going to retain half of the parking!

Finally reading Streetfight by @jskstreet.bsky.social and I thought it was interesting that the original congestion pricing zone in Manhattan, proposed in 2007, was set to begin 26 blocks north of where it actually starts in 2025.

Bike lanes are impractical bc you can’t use them if you’re elderly and need to go to Costco to stock up on groceries and also on the same trip go to Menards to refill your propane tank.

Challenge: Transport a 5-year-old to a doctor’s appointment, then to the first day of bike camp along with his bike, and then continue on to the office where parking is an ordeal.

I love how the beach is a great equalizer in Chicago. People from different neighborhoods, different cultures, different languages, different bodies, different ages, all united by a lakefront that’s forever open, clear and free.
