haven’t read the book, but I have had its content lectured to me repeatedly by a student the introductory anthropology course I TA’d years back. i think i’ll love this episode
This is not the worst book we've ever read but it is the meanest episode we've ever done.
Episode 46: Sapiens

It's an ambitious goal to write the entire history of humanity in just 400 pages. It's even more ambitious to do it without reading any research.

I started the Italian lessons on Duolingo and am actually upset learning that the word latte just means milk. but it is also hilarious bc lattes are basically milk with some espresso, and I am sure no one orders them in Italy lmao

As Trump proclaims the Alaskan Arctic open for business, it turns out business isn’t good. The infrastructure to drill in the Arctic is expensive and the private companies interested in the area don’t appear to have the capital.
Trump officials say Alaska is 'open for business.' So far, no one's buying.
The administration wants to drill in Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Oil companies don’t, leaving Alaska to spend millions propping up the idea.

#Melissa has made landfall in #Jamaica, and has preliminarily tied the record for the lowest pressure of any landfalling hurricane in Atlantic history: 892 mb. That was last observed 90 years ago with the 1935 Labor Day hurricane.
The storm does not look like it even notices Jamaica being there.
