First block of my second quilt is done! I fear I’ve escalated in difficulty, and this is going to take a lot longer than I thought. Though hopefully not the almost seven years it took me to finish the first quilt.

Instead of the SOTU, I’ve finally entered all (ok not technically all but basically all) my fabric into my threadloop account. @threadloop.bsky.social I both love and am horrified by the automatic calculation of total yards.

Stage two complete! Now to actually make the jam and let it get friendly with its spices in the fridge before tart time (to be baked later this week). Also soooo much pineapple juice, any good ideas on using? I’m thinking marinades, a pineapple simple for cocktails, rolls?

The great pineapple saga has begun. We’re doing 5ish pineapples this year to turn into jam to then turn into pineapple tarts for new years. Thankfully I learned after the first time to wear gloves. Wish me luck I’ll be here for hours.

While I still woke up at 7, managed to laze in bed until our grande dame of the household gently came and sat on me at 9:30 to indicate her extreme disappointment that her breakfast had not been served.

My cats have special breakfast treats most mornings (plain yogurt for the standard tabby and lactose free milk for the fluffy one) and we’ve basically trained them to sit at the island on stools to do it. We keep indulging because it’s so so cute.

Our cat is on restricted activity AND a cone for two weeks to recovery from a diagnostic surgery. If she wasn’t locked up, I would be dead.
