At 8.00 pm I’m turning my #LightLowForME in solidarity with those who live in darkness. Not by choice, but because their bodies cannot tolerate light, sound or touch. Join us in a quiet act of solidarity to symbolise the isolation experienced by people with Severe ME.

Myth: Only certain groups of people can develop ME.
Fact: ME affects people of all races, genders, ages, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
While about 75% of those affected are women, ME can affect anyone.
Marginalized communities face more challenges due to bias in the medical system.

Myth: You can exercise your way to recovery from ME
Fact: Exercise can be dangerous for people with ME
In the past, graded exercise therapy (GET) was recommended, but after reviewing the evidence people with ME are encouraged to pace themselves balancing activity and rest to avoid deterioration.

It is ME Awareness Month

ME- Myalgic Encephalomyelitis

Myth: ME is just about feeling tired.

Fact: The defining symptom of ME is Post-Exertional Malaise (PEM) - an extreme worsening of symptoms after even minor physical or mental exertion.

The same thing happened to me. My dog Jack died and the grief was intense. This cat adopted us. He was a stray cat that started living in our back garden and eventually my partner coaxed him inside. His name is Buddy.
