From RF Kuang's Babel. I think a lot about this when presenting to hearing audiences through interpreters. I do not think kuang would make a distinction between interpreting and translating in this case.

AFAICT EDS is a gut health related metabolism problem driving poor mitochondrial regeneration of collagen. It manifests with autism like etiology because the brain, vasculature, muscle, and immune system all also are impaired due to the mitochondrial health factor.

Theory:

hEDS (collagen syntheis and vitamin C/glutathione), cEDS (pi3k/akt/mTOR), and vEDS (gut(?) inflammation) shoud all be treatable via gut health shifts impacting gene expression related to mitochondrial health factors and lipid health tied to liver and kidney function.

Hypermobility + Blood pressure problems + weird allergic responses + Muscle Problems / Fatigue?
c/v/hEDS + POTS + MCAS + ME /CFS

Boy that sounds familiar. It's almost like they are autism adjacent phenomena that all tie to gut health.

Thinking also - of my real time speech responses being adapted to my reading and annotating styles; I mainly shift between sensous and sensual expression/engagement. If I'm speaking fast it's an impatient mental wank- if slow, I'm consciously engaging-funny I can't tell which one is rooted masking

Loved my August/September reads, kinda disappointed I haven't been interested in reading fiction lately (or ever tbh) kinda not cause I generally feel like I've wasted my time when I do.

I'll be in the identifier dungeon with @fungiwithbengi.bsky.social most of the time but I'll do my best to share some 🍄📷

Fascinating podcast talking about the ADHD med shortage and other oddities here.

The guest (McLaughlin) mentions a phenomena people are running into where meds don't work? appears to cits: web.archive.org/web/20230311...

I'd love to talk (via discord?) about it if anyone's experienced this.
