Should I go to AWP? It's over my 50th birthday weekend. It's expensive but I have a book to continue to promote. It's probably the same price to fly to Paris. Love/hate relationship with AWP. Birthday. Hmmpf.

OMG I have...a FAN.

Who came to my event tonight because she loved EAW and has been waiting for my second book.

OMG.

This is the best.

I hope you have a fan, too.

Children’s literature is flooded by incidents of cute animals eating their peers. When will it stop?

If you’re an Annie Bloom’s shopper, remember that you can donate your coupon. We use the money to buy books for kids at Neighborhood House and other housing charities.

A way to have a good weekend is to go to a local bookstore this afternoons and buy something random and counterintuitive from the staff picks shelf, and spend the next two days reading it.

I sold a copy of Epic and Lovely to a customer who asked for something “fucked up.”

Last night, my coworker and I stood in front of the ARC shelf at the store and both said we were bored with the fiction that's coming out.

"If I have to read about a family fighting in Cape Cod, I will die."

Little boxes made of ticky-tacky. I'm tired.

Dyna and Swilkes are on pasta today.

YES: gemelle (found in that six pack of short pasta Costco sells), trofie (had it in Rome, the official shape for pesto), spaghetti and all types of long strands

NO: penne (stupid '80s fad pasta), penis shapes (found at a novelty store once--no)
What about VERY GOOD pasta shapes?

There must be some underrated treasures that are being overlooked, beyond the default penne and workaday spaghetti.
