Also, as someone who has worked with organizations operating in authoritarian counties under USAID and DoS grants and contacts (now cancelled, obvs), their promises are meaningless and they don’t care about anyone. Any Dem who “works with” them is either an idiot or complicit.

I mean, I haven't been to Target since they broke bad, but having to endure forced rictus smiles from underpaid workers and having to talk to anyone while shopping for any reason at all would drive me away even if they were a viable moral option.

I'm sure that would be very popular with the DMV fan base, which is famously big into MAGA. The Ravens will be happy to welcome them into the flock.

Baltimore City, where the contracts were based, is not part of Baltimore County, so the MOU doesn’t apply to city law enforcement. The City is independent and Baltimore County cops don’t have jurisdiction in the city.

The point is to have kids get used to it. If parents try to comfort them or say it's going to be OK, they're doing the authoritarians' work for them. Parents need to encourage kids to feel scared and horrified by this, so they grow up knowing it's wrong and that the people doing it are bad.

It helps the authoritarians. The point is to have kids grow up thinking this is normal and OK. The parents of these kids and others who see this shit should encourage them to feel scared and horrified by it—not try to comfort them or say it's OK, which does the authoritarians' work for them.

The best, or at least least terrifying, interpretation of this is that they ruined this guys life because a couple of idiots can't read. Unbelievable miscarriage of justice and abuse of the law.
