As a Canadian lawyer, the American grand jury system has always been perplexing to me. It seems like a colossal waste of resources that only serves to give a veneer of legitimacy to what is actually just an exercise of prosecutorial discretion. ⚖️

⚖️ A few weeks ago, someone on Bluesky was surprised to learn that artists can remove their works from the blanket licenses granted by ASCAP/BMI. The attached letter shows how it was just done by Eminem to prevent Vivek Ramaswamy from using and/or performing Eminem songs on the campaign trail.
