I’m having a good night on the eve of my MIL’s kidney removal surgery (due to cancer) and subsequent start of dialysis.

One final amusing reflection on the process of cataloging everything:
When it came to my backlog, I just quickly took pictures of the various piles/boxes, not thinking about things like timelines, release years, etc., so I still had to Google a ton of these after the fact.
So efficient. 😅

Still have the cassettes to go, but finished the rest tonight. Went for a G1 box-like pose.
This was OK. It reminded me of third-party Lego sets, in that it’s still cool, but you can see and feel the differences in engineering and the small details.
It’s solid though and does feel like a toy!

Looks like this is mostly ABS, so I’m not going to take any chances panel lining it. Will likely leave it as a snap build, which I think will be fine.
Tightness on some joints destroyed my fingers, but it’s been a solid build so far otherwise.

I like this particular HGUC action pose, so I tried to do the same with my MG.
It’s interesting how it doesn’t have the same level of articulation as the HG, so it ended up looking a little stiff and less dynamic.
Still, fun to do poses like these balanced on one foot!

Beautiful work! 🤩 I built the Koto kit earlier this year. Really enjoyable build, but it required a decent amount of painting to make it more accurate to the anime. Thanks for sharing!

I was initially afraid to see what my backlog looked like, but it's not as bad as I feared. I've built 46 kits since November, and I have the 56 kits listed here. I've really cut down on my purchases in recent months too, which has helped. Still a lot, but manageable (in my mind 😅).

I like organizing things, so I made a doc to track my Gunpla/Plamo builds. I have it broken down by grade/type, name, release year, start/end dates, build days, and personal tier rankings.
Average build time is 6 days.
Tier split:
S: 18%
A: 25%
B: 41%
C: 16%

Finished my MG RGM-79[G] GM Ground Type today. I rushed a bit since rain’s expected this week, so I wanted to at least get most of it done. Still have the rest of the weaponry to go.
While this wasn’t my favorite (molds and color separation are just OK), I still had a good time!

Body and waist done, plus the water slides. Head’s finished too but I have that disassembled for topcoating when the weather improves.
Had 120 trick or treaters and the Dodgers forced a game 7, so it was a good night all around!

OK, I got streaming working better after moving our Wi-Fi stuff around (no more stuttering or video corruption/macroblocking), so things are looking and running much better now!
And I can continue playing this in bed, which is the most important thing. 🛌🎮

Also went back to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and had a nice little breakthrough with the first tough enemy in the game last night.
Playing this on Steam Deck is a little challenging given the tiny text and so-so performance, but it's working out OK so far. 🙂
