Aw thanks Jem. I just realized I had to edit down my original post and cut out mention of the emotional rollercoaster part. I’ll be fine yesterday was just an extra stressful day.

Update: I am imagining myself anywhere else now.

So that's my short thread about how things are going since I decided I was going to work at an airline a short 18+ months ago.

Today was a long day full of questions, deployments, and meetings. I forgot to eat lunch (and dinner). But I still have a really hard time imagining myself anywhere else.

And then there's managing my own mental health. I am genuinely excited to learn about how the acquiring org works and their tech, as well as meet new incredibly smart people.

But I am also anxious about navigating a new network, current work relationships, career path, etc etc.

My first goal is making sure my team is ok & has the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and knowledge: opportunities are finally starting to pop up ~4 months into our 12 month interim contract.

This experience is tricky for everyone and we're all feeling our way through it.

Absolutely wilt that this is still going on 😳 there are so many incredible people that have contributed to WP and a lot are being outright driven away...

I appreciated the clear and specific ideas in your post. Looking forward to hearing more about the potential in solutions like federation!
