It was interesting, but also very messy storytelling. I think they started with a spooky concept and backed into it a bunch of mental health stuff, cobbling together a narrative structure that didn’t make sense in order to justify the concept.

Republicans give their base what they want and that’s why you’re seeing all of these crackdowns with ICE agents etc. Their voters love it even if we find it abhorrent. If Democrats gave their base what they wanted, they would win elections and we’d have things like higher minimum wage and healthcare
