For whatever reason I’ve probably made more friends from Texas in my time online than any place else. I’ve always felt a connection to the idea of Texas - big, bold, unmistakeable and I’ve liked many Texans I’ve met.
So tonight my heart breaks for my friends in Texas and all who’ve suffered loss.

I've noticed an influx the past week or so of accounts explicitly or implicitly calling for violence. Many of these seem 'trollish', low follower counts, repeat many of the same themes.
I promote peace and nonviolence. These are core convictions.

I met a veteran at No Kings today. He told me in ‘68 at 18 he was drafted for ‘Nam yet he couldn’t even vote. Had to be 21. Resolved then and there to never take democracy for granted. He’s 75 and still fighting for it #respect.
