Random thought of the day: what is it in the interaction between peanut butter and black tea w/ milk that makes the combination taste a little fishy?

#hamilton pedestrian pet peeve: the light at Main/Albert. It’s on a beg button with appallingly long wait time, staying red for xing through multiple cycles of the automated light at Carrick. I don’t understand why the two couldn’t be linked.

TV ad: scene- quiet city street, daytime. (voice-over)"Hi, I'm Keith Wilson, mayor of Portland, Oregon & this is what downtown looks like today." -22 seconds of street sounds, a bird chirps a few times, a distant car horn honks- "Pretty fucking boring, eh?"

Dear Audible, running ads in Canada that promote a book as being set “in Toronto’s cottage country” is probably not going to win you a strong readership here.

There’s something deeply satisfying about finishing a project.

12” x 14”, hand sewn of a lovely soft rough-out leather with natural veg tan handles and a magnetic closure.

Holy moly that’s a lot of string players. 1000-strong orchestra in Latvia’s Youth Song & Dance Festival orchestral concert.
Pārpasaulīgs skaistums.

Pirmo reizi Jauniešu Dziesmu svētku vēsturē 1000 jauno mūziķu Simfoniskās mūzikas lielkoncertā “Daudzskanīgais debesjums”. Paldies dalībniekiem un virsdiriģentiem, šis bija ļoti, ļoti skaisti!

Listening to www.nytimes.com/2025/06/26/o... and wondering what screws Thiel has actually still clinging in place, because the rattle is getting rather worrying.

@joeycoleman.ca FYI - passed by Ottawa St about half an hour ago and the street was closed with what looked like a working fire either at or just behind Memorial Elementary.

Getting Chad knocked out of parliament would be about the most right thing to happen, even if the seat goes blue.
More liveblog updates:

Hamilton East Stoney Creek: Ned Kuruc has worked hardest of any Hamilton area candidate. No surprise with nearly half of polls reporting, Kuruc is outperforming national trends.

We'll have to wait until the end to call that riding

The collapse of the NDP vote changes everything - A decade ago the NDP held three of the five seats, tonight they can only hope to keep one.

@joeycoleman.ca bit of a mess on Maplewood at Gage as a derailed car carved up the road surface. Train stopped with crossing closed = #5 bus stuck, too.

A bit back I said you should maybe reconsider those plans.

I would like to amend my prior statement.

Cancel them. Cancel them now. We cannot keep you safe from our own government. Take your holiday in Spain or something.

Gonna be a wild time when other countries start reciprocating by revoking American visas and deporting Americans because of the policies of this administration.

The government is demanding that a school discipline students as it wants, change the authority structure at the school, and end a department it doesn’t like.

Remember that next time some person on the right tells you the GOP is the free speech party.
