You want to be alive, but they want you dead. We’re a new, well, funded democratic group that thinks you can meet them halfway.

How much we've lost by allowing genAI (and crap CGI) into these most fundamentally human of pursuits.
The magic Bava made with forced perspective, matte painted backdrops and lighting... ooof.
Love the milk carton skyscrapers. Just so much fun.
Beautiful. There is no need for genAI to make fx cheaper (while redirecting the costs to the destruction of cultural & ecological spheres). There is no need to hire armies of underpaid techs to do garbage CGI fx under horrible deadlines. The tools are there, waiting to be reclaimed.
Bava also did the special effects for the movie; the New York skyline is just a series of milk cartons plastered with photographs, a magic trick of lighting

Recognizing that some OCD behaviours can be a stim in ND individuals was an early aha moment for me that made me realise - as an educator and clinician - how limiting and open to bias so many diagnostic tools were.

We can see the degree to which ideas that might even have been appropriate in some contexts have been incorporated into autism services without considering whether they make sense. Like applying OCD criteria for repetitive behaviors in autism contexts w/o changing framework.

Heh. Their censorship has just made it more profound.
They erased the new Banksy mural in London. But the stain remains.

What appears to be a craggy, starlit mountaintop kissed by wispy clouds is actually a cosmic dust-scape being eaten away by the blistering winds and ultraviolet light of nearby, massive, infant stars. What else did #NASAWebb find in Pismis 24? https://bit.ly/4mr3cmt

This thread articulates so much of the neurodivergent struggle with employment.

Capitalism and it's requirement of productivity is one of the reasons why we are being pushed towards the end goal of eugenics by both sides of the political spectrum.
Even the left defines it's workers and
Current statistics suggest 30% of autistic adults are in employment, defined as at least 1 hour of paid work a week. A repeated theme I've found, interviewing autistic people, is burnout, breakdown & stepping back from work they love because it becomes impossible. It's a huge problem.

80% of my international print orders come from the U.S. This has completely fucked that up.
The very real, very immediate consequences for independent artists and small business owners are going to be catastrophic.
What's more - I bet this is intentional.
