#Neanderthal man in spring outfit from the Eemian site of Taubach, Germany. 1st drawing for my Middle Palaeolithic clothing series. Taubach is a travertine site where 120 kya #Neanderthals regularly hunted rhinos & bears who were attracted to the site by presence of mineral licks #paleoart

The huge Deinocheirus in its habitat. Illustration I did for the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum in Japan

In this illustration you can see a scene set in Late Cretaceous Asia where an adult Deinocheirus is scaring away a pair of young Tarbosaurus

It's true, #PrehistoricPlanet Ice Age is coming to #AppleTV for November 2025. These images show how good our animals are, but... believe me, this barely scratches the surface!! It has been a massive thrill and privilege to help bring this series together... you're in for an incredible treat.

Ok… so the cat is out of the bag and I can FINALLY start talking about this. I just confirmed with Tim I can say that I did a lot of concept art, like this baby Spinosaurus, for the new docuseries #SurvivingEarth coming out in 2026!

So excited for you guys to see this!

🏺🦣 New Schöningen dating is great as a refinement, but as authors say, it doesn't change anything about #Neanderthals: prev estimates were on cusp of Lower-Middle Palaeolithic (lithics didn't necessarily imply Lower), and behaviours like co-op hunting & complex woodworking still go back deeper.
With other age evidence from this multinational study, suggests the spears & the horse hunting deposits are ~100,000 years younger than previously thought. But doesn’t diminish the importance of Schöningen; an incredible insight into sophisticated hunting strategies @leizarchaeology.bsky.social

Ancient horse hunts challenge ideas of ‘modern’ human behavior
An archaeological site in Germany suggests communal hunting and complex thinking emerged earlier in human evolution than once thought.

And here now the result of the Candeleros formation stream! What a weird place. The part of the formation we depict here is wasn't quite as arid as some of the lower parts of the formation and yet it was dry enough that it makes me wonder... how all the sauropods?
