Thought I might share a life story from a few months ago to brighten your day. Back in March, I spotted a raccoon on the side of the interstate that had very clearly been run over. I pulled over thinking I’d have to put it out of its misery. We ended up becoming good friends.

In 2014 when I went to Washington to lobby for research funding for women’s heart health, Senators Durbin and McCain were the legislative champions who made this happen. I’m sorry Senator Durbin is retiring but he is selflessly doing this to make way for the next generation of Democratic leaders.
