The KKK was active in Maine in the early 1900s--mainly anti- Catholic and anti-Irish immigrant, from what I know. Years ago my father found some Klan parade photos from the 1920s. One reportedly includes the mayor of Gardiner.

I remember well my mother's outrage when she found out (late 1960s) that she could not sell stocks that her father had given her without my father's permission.

You know who the real freeloaders in this country are? Not people who rely on SNAP, but corporations whose business model depends on wages so low that taxpayers have to feed their workers.
