I’ll add that this matters because being moved to tears by something that someone else made is one of the very best parts of being alive.
Milton Glaser said the purpose of design is to inform and delight. Really imagine what it feels like to be delighted. It feels like warmth in your chest. It can feel like goosebumps. That is the bar for all art: to move someone, possibly to tears.
