Here are some pieces and journalists I actually learnt something from:
@justinling.ca on Kirk’s position in the MAGA movement including this line:

“In the same way that his beliefs do not justify his murder, his murder can’t justify his beliefs either.”

Trump demonstrates the danger of a dictator confusing his own, often sadistic, fantasies with the desires of the public -- and repeatedly enacting dystopian theaters of cruelty in the nation's streets, as I discuss here.

People STILL seem to be completely unaware of what #Project2025 has in store for us.

Especially women.

Here are some cliff notes. And I find it interesting how much policy that's been around for decades they blame on Biden.

Bluesky is dying
Bluesky was invented to create a nicer space than Twitter. The problem is that too few people have joined and most are smug and boring.

Donald Trump has long-espoused eugenicist and ableist beliefs.

For @motherjones.com, I put together a timeline of some of these greatest (or worst) hits, which shows a pattern, starting back in the 1980s. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

I do not have the words strong enough to say fuck off with this shit.
There it is: CBC radio just had cop / city councillor / former public safety minister Kash Heed on to explain that “people should be scared,” “militarization is needed,” people w/ mental illness are a public threat when “occupying public spaces.”

In short, a call for mass institutionalization.

Oz's statement is a nod to 2 overlapping ideas on health & patriotic duty:

1) the fascist idea that strong bodies = a strong State, therefore strength is a civic duty

2) the neoliberal idea that health is an individual responsibility, so good citizenship means reducing the State's health costs.
This from Dr. Oz is a new fucking low. Also, on a side note, are they looking at bringing back the draft?

What is happening in the US with Trump threatening universities like Columbia and Harvard is chilling and takes us a step closer to authoritarian control. What is even more chilling is that Pierre Poilievre threatened the same Trumpian policy in 2022.

It's so cool and great that we had to listen to pipeline rhetoric for 83957268374 minutes of the debate but no one will question Poilievre on his *very recent* anti-vax attitudes and attempted legislation.

It's a very simple question: will you try to end MMR mandates in health care and schools?
Reminder as we watch measles rates climb in Canada that *this* is Poilievre's attitude towards vaccination during a public health emergency.

MMR vaccination has long been mandated for health care workers.

Would a Poilievre govt ban the MMR mandate in health care during a huge measles outbreak?

Every Canadian needs to vote.
Show how united we are for Canada 🇨🇦
Slogan Boy Poilievre must be having a fit as the polls show the Liberals ahead. However, polls don’t vote, people do. Don’t sit the election out if you care about Canada.

The fact the candidate everyone isn’t talking about is Conservative candidate, Andrew Lawton, is SHAMEFUL.

This piece of filth has DECADE of bigotry, sexism, homophobia, on record. Not one bad day.

Why isn’t Poilievre being asked to remove him, like when he ran for Ford a few years ago?
