Decided to fill in some pre-code hollywood blind spots i have, started with Footlight Parade that I can’t believe I’d never seen before and made me lose my mind: My ★★★★ review of Footlight Parade (1933) on @letterboxd: boxd.it/7WNkqp
A ★★★★ review of Footlight Parade (1933)
I can't believe I'd never seen this. I can't believe James Cagney invented Cats, the musical - Andrew Lloyd Webber should've paid his dues. I can't believe I never knew where the Coens drew from for C...

That Vanity Fair Cormac McCarthy piece reads like it was written by this guy.

I enjoyed Anora (loathed the ending) but what exactly do we learn about her life outside of sex work lol

There's a great story buried in here, accidentally hinted at around the edges, but it wasn't going to written by a credulous McCarthy fanboy.

Publicists blocking their clients from appearing with Sebastian Stan cause Trump is obviously vile and pathetic but what we should focus on is A different man where he gives one of the very best performances of recent years, and that’s the film that should be in awards contention

You know what? I liked Gladiator 2. I was entertained, messy script and all. My ★★★½ review of Gladiator II (2024) and my personal ranking of the MVPs of the film : boxd.it/7OEoU9
A ★★★½ review of Gladiator II (2024)
I’m a simple woman - you give me Denzel Washington in evil queen mode and Paul Mescal in beast mode and I am ENTERTAINED. What is cinema if not Denzel’s giving all timer reaction shots frame after fra...

8 years ago I attended a conversation between Dario Argento and William Friedkin. One was one of the fucking weirdest, most uncomfortable, slightly surreal, delirious afternoons of my life. I wish there was a video, or that I at least could find my photos.

Took this shitty weather summer weekend, when i'm kinda sick in bed, to catch up with The Righteous Gemstones, that for some reason i'd abandoned on s1 and i'm low key obsessed, esp. with baby billy (of course) and keefe. What a show, so messy and so fun.

A24 remembered they have the best film of the year, better late than never. These two new photos they shared from Jonathan Glazer's The Zone of Interest once again mean nothing out of context, but still... Nearly 3 months after seeing the film on a friday morning at 8.30 am, I'm still haunted.

2 full months after seeing Jonathan Glazer's The Zone of Interest, without a doubt the most incredible film of the year, I'm starting to wonder if those screenings were a collective hallucination and if A24 is ever going to do anything with this...

Review of ‘Barbie’ (2023) ★★★★
Where to begin? With all the bad faith readings of this film being either too woke or not woke enough? Was that its reason of being, really? Or do we simply ask too much of women directors? Cause I…
