Happiness isn't my goal in life. Happiness is an experience I have sometimes. Other times it's grief, boredom, hunger, pleasure... But those are things that happen to me, not a place I'm going.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

Thanksgiving is a complicated holiday. Or it should be. I get why some folks celebrate the myth and why some folks choose other ways to mark the day. This year especially, I hope we take time to read the actual history, to wrestle w/ how that bitter legacy is still shaping our country today.

I WANT to see news and actual vetted work and I WANT journalists to get rewarded for it.
