The E Hennepin Auto Services snow pile is the sidewalk clearing final boss.
A giant (3+ foot) tall snow pile perfectly centered over a sidewalk. The alley in the foreground and the adjacent rows and parking lots are both cleared.

Bike lanes coming to E Hennepin this week. (🥳) That’s an extra few feet between this bus stop bench and literal semi trucks.
A bus stop— a bench is situated on a grassy sidewalk boulevard, about 1 foot from the roadway. The bus stop is surrounded by traffic signs temporarily being stored on the boulevard. There is a large transport truck driving past the stop in the rightmost lane. There is also a full rotisserie chicken under one of the stored traffic signs.

Update: it was the (native!) field thistle that did ‘er in. The garden will be back ‼️
During the walk through it was determined all that needed to happen for the pollinator garden was to remove the thistle and edge out the garden area, not to remove or disturb any of the other plantings. Upon our follow-up with Landcare it appears there was a miscommunication between the supervisor and the student worker and that is why the garden was partially destroyed.

we were really looking forward to another display of our prairie blazing star. it’s a real shame that umn landcare loves hostas so much when the university has so many researchers stressing the importance of native plantings

there are a lot of worse things happening but today umn landcare razed the resident-led native pollinator garden at the grad student housing
