I wouldn't say Americans had the best lives on the planet. I know that's what US media has long said & maybe around the 50-80s it was true, but probably 10th in the world or so since.

Lack of public healthcare, stagnant wages, absurd levels of incarceration, gun violence & high cost of living.

One potential “x-factor” that could come into play in this series is that the New York Knicks are passionate and fight hard to win games while the Boston Celtics are a soulless enterprise whose players are mentally weak

great document. thanks for posting. and how relevant, especially considering how the question of zionist aggression arguably helped split left support, leading to a weakened democratic party showing in this latest election. let fascism in anywhere and it destroys any moral coalition.

one thing i keep thinking about is how there is simply no way to design a constitutional system that can resist authoritarian incursion if participants in that system do not actually care that much

I was assured that it was the only place leftists could organize
An update on the TikTok situation from our monitoring on Reddit. Now you get TOS'ed for saying negative comments about meta and Zuckerberg, left-wing politics get flagged as misinformation, and you can't tag #fucktrump #fuckelon or #fuckmeta but you CAN tag #fuckbiden and #fuckkamala

Today in Milan, a student activist group hung a trash-filled effigy of Musk upside down on a gate outside of piazzale Loreto, where Mussolini's body was displayed in 1945.
They left the message: "C'è sempre posto a piazzale Loreto, Elon" (There's always room in piazzale Loreto, Elon)

The Philadelphia Inquirer reached out to me to get my reaction to the unanimous Supreme Court TikTok band verdict, my initial was “LOL this is how I found out.”

But then I sat down and sent them something printable. You can read the full article here:

North Carolina’s Atrium Health says it will forgive the debts of 11,500 people — less than a week after NBC News reported that the company has aggressively pursued former patients’ medical debts, placing liens on their homes to collect on bills.
'Like a miracle': N.C. couple free of nearly $100,000 medical debt after 15 years
The lien on Donna and Gary Lindabury's home for a 2009 heart surgery debt was among 11,500 wiped away by Atrium Health after an NBC News report.

I guess it's easier than fixing the issues that might motivate a person to commit murder.

Though, when an insurance company murders someone, it's just good business.

All jokes aside it's really fucked up to see so many people on here celebrating murder. No one here is the judge of who deserves to live or die. That's the job of the AI algorithm the insurance company designed to maximise profits on your health and no one else
