MISHMASHERS Publishing is an independent publishing company specializing in a range of different genres.
but, my God, is it disoriented and difficult to see during some instances, particularly during boss battles. It's a fatal flaw that actively hemorrhages so much of my enjoyment of the game - with it constantly being difficult to navigate maps and the foreground always getting in the way.

I am further along in In Nightmare now. I have come to find that I strongly disliked the camera angle in this game. Basically, it operates with something between an isometric and top-down camera perspective, which is fine. I have no problem with that. I'm open-minded about that, [1 of 2]

You and I are both doing something similar with playing / reviewing GameBoy games (I personally play them on my Raspberry Pi).

I saw you're a writer as well. I co-run a small publishing company called Mishmashers if you're ever interested in corresponding.

Cheers.

Hey slugger,
I came across your website recently after completing Crash: The Huge Adventure and looking to see whatever everyone else thought about it. I found your site pretty charming - kind of a throwback to simpler times.

I dig the atmosphere. The story is all over the place, but its surrealism works with the dream setting. The music and ambiance is good. Just good, clean spooky vibes.

Begun feeling more puzzle-y. Just puzzle after puzzle. Some are neat. Some feel very cryptic and Moon logic-y. Some are so simple and straightforward they almost don't feel like puzzles. Kind-of has a sizzle-reel vibe to it, like the developer had a lot of ideas and just threw 'em at the game.

I am starting to get a better idea of what In Nightmare is going for. I finished Chapter 3 (of, I think, 6 chapters). The chase scenes stop feeling so disorienting after a while. I don't think it is that I got used to it and think it's more so that the enemies were more frantic early on.

Good luck on the horror novel, my good dude. Big fan, myself. Writer too. Run a small book publishing company as well. So, you and I have a good amount in common. Cheers.

The stealth is usually pretty decent. I am not the best at stealth. I'm all thumbs with Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid, but the classic PlayStation 2-y, hide and seek kind of stealth, I can do well enough. It's fun, but the foreground can sometimes lead to issues.

The atmosphere is melancholic and charming, and I generally dig it - like I'm playing a Death Cab for Cutie videogame. I will say that it is starting to feel like a hat on a depressing hat with the story. It looks like our protagonist is in a coma, and we're constantly finding lore of our sad life.

Fleeing enemies leaves something to be desired. At times, it can be kind-of fun in a, Crash Bandicoot running away from the rolling boulder kind of way, but, other times, because of the filters, effects, and shakiness that is implemented, my wife and I ran into a lot of motion sickness.

Early impressions, it has an isometric camera-angle that can sometimes make finding objects and navigating the area difficult. I like the art style though, which carries a vibe that vaguely reminds me of Monster House.

To be clear, Mishmashers isn't only looking for flash fictions, although it is what we'd done for past entries. Anything submitted, be it short stories, flash fictions, or a novelette, we'll talk to you about it.

If you watched WInnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, for instance, and hated it, I will mention that the sequel was a large improvement and a lot more of what I think people wanted from it. Even had Tigger doing what was basically a Freddy Krueger impression, haha.

The One-Two Punchline is a novelette and one I am very proud of. In fact, all of the stories I have written for Readers Digested I'm very proud of. This one allowed me to tackle some of my feelings of self-doubt and anxiety toward writing as a passion and profession. It meant a lot. (2/2)

I consider myself a horror writer, when it comes down to it. Whether I am writing fantasy or a mystery about a fox detective, I am always trying to find ways to bring some element of horror into it. Still, I have also sometimes struggled at full-length horror novels. (1/2)
