2 tenure-track positions at UC Chile just opened.. in the maths/stats department. We have good growing links with the dept of computational engineering, so people wanting to fill the bridge maths-CS are welcome.

Have a look (and maybe click "apply") here mathjobs.org/jobs/list/27...

Look at Ex.2 output here: looks like there's an "error" for the green squares coloring pattern on the right (compared with "correct solution" pattern when you play the game). A bug or a feature? If a feature, and test signal is noisy like this, pass@2 would be strictly necessary to screen the noise

Looking for postdocs! if you are interested in Geometric Deep Learning, Computational Chemistry, TDA, Diffusion Models, then give it a thought :)

Gero Friesecke wrote an OT book!

Chapter 2 is the main highlight compared to other texts: The finite marginal case to me is very illuminating for the general theory.
Also it has an emphasis on the multimarginal case (Gero works on DFT where that's used).

Sadly, the book is paywalled and not cheap

Didn't know about this identifiability result (attaching assumption 1 from cited paper).

As w2v linear algebra disentangling of analogies like king-man+woman=queen only works under independence assumptions conditioned on context, I'm curious to see how this work extends it beyond that hypothesis.

..the larger female goes up to ~5cm long. From this picture it looks like her external "teeth" can move.. also it is pelagic, black, and with no bioluminiscence (the only anglerfish without a lure?), so it's not that clear (to me) how it finds/catches prey meridian.allenpress.com/copeia/artic...

Just started reading, and this is a minor point, but when you mention "hallucinations" of LLMs why do you give only one reference, which is about errors in speech-to-text translators like Whisper?.. these are not the most famous of LLM hallucinations that people have been concerned about

Main result looks like this.. the mentioned "procedure" is an abstract one, so the point is not applicability, right? I'm not familiar with the niche of research that this interests to

#neuroscience skeetiverse, this book is old, from 1999.. do you know a better more recent book on the same topic, or is this the last word on the matter?

the paper is so good that Di Giovanni et al's work here is un-collapsedly listed as two different papers, rather than collapsing it to one citation
