Textile Artist
I create objects, often wearable, from salvaged textiles. In a former life I wrote Reconstructing Clothes for Dummies and owned 2 local-made boutiques in SF.
Currently raising family and infiltrating a red county in Oregon.
Just spotted on the trail to my kiddo's school.

Warping always looks like ribbon candy to me.
New project of gauzy cotton and linen scarves is in the works!

I installed my first show!

I've done group shows before (one or two pieces amid others' work.) technically this is a group show, as I'm one of many gallery members. But it feels more individual than ever before.

I love this feeling. It's like I'm starting to get back in my skin again.

These are e most important #s for the Dems. They should be tracking all local media and influencers in these states and reposting it everywhere

The economic pain tariffs can indlict on red states need to be talked about more than anything else right now. It will flip voters.

As a maker, I find it absurd that GOP/MAGA shop and own stores packed with cheap imports, while leftists who care about community and environment shop local makers and farm stands.

I'm searching for quotes to embroider into the weaving project that I'm currently working on. #RBG is 🔥

Day 7/100 #the100dayproject
Crazy weekend of kid things but I managed to get the heddles threaded.
I'm appreciating this project to make sure I spend SOME amount of time on this every day.
...getting the loom set up to weave takes just about the same amount of time as it takes to weave.

Day 5&6/100 #the100dayproject
I was offline yesterday for the #economicblackout so I've got a doubleday today.
Threading this has been a bit crazy, with 3 different warps and a bit of whimsical randomization.
Stay tuned to see how tangled, or not, this might get!

Day 4/100 of #the100dayproject
I'm adding some #blackandwhite to a white warp for this prototype. I'm going to play around with the placement to break up the symmetry.
Maybe throw in a bright streak. ❤️‍🔥

Day 3/100 #the100dayproject
I've decided to start a fresh warp for this project, requiring me to "unwarp" the warp board.

I don't work like this. I typically find a use for things, moving forward vs backwards.
But in undoing, I am moving forward with choice & free will. Unfettered

Day 1/100 #the100dayproject

My goal for these 100 days is to accomplish an idea that I've been pondering for over a year now. It's going to take a lot of time, which may be why I haven't committed to it thus far...

I'll be having my first non-group gallery show for my art pieces this April. It's nice to have a reason to spend time making the ideas that have been bouncing around in my head all these years!

Hey DOGE, how efficient are these lawsuits for taxpayers? Wouldn't it be more efficient to actually have competent people in leadership who have read and comprehend the Constitution and its amendments?

A Federal District Court judge in Maryland issued a preliminary injunction on Wednesday blocking President Trump’s attempt to eliminate automatic U.S. citizenship for children born to undocumented or temporary immigrants on U.S. soil.
Judge Blocks Trump’s Birthright Citizenship Order
The nationwide injunction, from a Maryland case, is more permanent than last month's restraining order from a judge in Seattle.

This country is analogous to the worst group project you were ever assigned in school. Now we all fail, cause two didn't even study (but swore they knew best), one didn't do shit, and the remaining two were unable to fix everything the other three screwed up by the day you had to present.

As a costumer, I've put many men in skirts and dresses. Cis, gay, straight, bi, trans... From daily wear to full drag performance.

The ONLY one who got scary was the man who was ashamed & couldn't be honest with his wife and kids.

The problem is the box, not the people outside of it.

#morningmeanderings finishing this scarf...

My son's book (my craft weight) is a "choose your own adventure" about choices and consequences.

If voters had a book like this for the 2024 election, we could have ended up with Madam President instead of the circus-elect.

This seems appropriate for my first post. I am an artist/maker whose values lie in community, diminishing waste, and individual self-expression.
I divorced Amazon and other giant corporations. I couldn’t walk without extreme pain for years and relied heavily on Amazon’s early, efficient delivery.

A lot of people will intimately learn what fuck around and find out means. There’s a better database, but search here:
