You can tell how different Canada is from America in that if you go to Montreal, where the official language is French, cashiers or baristas or whatever will greet you with “Bonjour, hi!” whereas in America if anyone ever says “Hello, hola!” they are 100% ICE

Brookfield guy worries about property investment /empty office space while faux-running country.
Terribly stupid idea that will satisfy faux-populist urges to dunk on public servants while simultaneously making the lives of public servants and the service itself so much worse.

Goofy stuff.

Even a broken clock is correct twice a day. May continues "I'm the victim" tour rather than journalists hearing from Liberals (besides Guilbeault) on why they think this is what Canadians wanted.

Liberal MPs are whipped and May is an authoritarian leader who can say anything with 0 accountability.
MAY: "It's not just me who's wondering, 'How did this happen that a Prime Minister we thought was going to stand for certain things is standing for other things?'"

With limited time in federal politics (on the chief agent side) I speak from experience that, even on the intra-party level, politicians will ALWAYS attempt to move the goal posts. And, if there isn't significant pushback they will ALWAYS succeed at centralizing power. It's totally normalized.
It’s naked corruption:

“Prime Minister Mark Carney plans to grant cabinet ministers the power to exempt any individual or company from any federal law on the books — except for the Criminal Code — for up to six years. “ #cdnpoli

The number of people that have doubled down on "bUt woUlD yOu waNt PoiliEvRe?!" is astonishing.

1. You should always be able to critique policy and politicians.
2. I didn't want PP - it follows to not want the guy that does what PP would have and is just less of a blatant dick about it.
I don’t know how to explain to people that a Prime Minister who lied to everyone to pass his budget and then gave reporters a fake copy of the Budget implementation act is not a good guy apparently. But I can’t handle hearing how good of a PM he is anymore.

At least Trudeau cared about women and had fully funded a 10 year plan to combat GBV, Mark Carney cancelled that plan.

GPC didn't even share that this Live was happening on their social media. A curated group of May supporters primarily made up the comment section. Either that, or no one else cares enough to hold her accountable...but it you don't even let your members know about a public event...

It's 👏🏻 theater 👏🏻
She shouldn't have voted yes. She didn't need to vote yes. Don't tell me "Canadians don't want an election" when we know GPC just can't AFFORD an election.

This is actually her just displaying her true colours - she doesn't give a 💩 about Global Green Principles.
🚨 LIVE TOMORROW AT 11:00amET 🚨

Green Party Leader Elizabeth May was the lone opposition MP who voted to support Mark Carney’s government in a recent budget vote.

Now, she says that was a 'mistake.'

That's why I've been dying to talk to her. Tomorrow, she's obliging me.

JB talks like a politician in this interview, and I don't mean that as a compliment.

Also, the whole statement of financial contribution at the start was weird. Like, was JB trying to show he's a nice guy? Was it a backwards conflict declaration? 1/2

I can't stop thinking about this song and what it means.

Dec. 6, 1989, 14 women were killed in a Montreal mass shooting by a loser incel.

This song is about that event.

We're still fighting for effective gun control laws next to a country that has abdicated all accountability & sanity on guns.

When I worked in bankruptcy and insolvency I met with debtors who had higher income from pensions than I did working in a FT management position. Part of that income was OAS.

So yeah, maybe stop giving <$1000/mon to people who don't need it and put it towards oh I dunno, UBI, for affordability now.
A rare moment in Canadian politics! Politicians agree that reform is needed for Old Age Security benefits. Billions in benefits are going to those with household incomes above $100K/year while 400,000 seniors live in poverty. youtu.be/j15PUVpdIyM #cdnpoli #Canada

I would argue they are the same. So-called "political strategy" is just lying - whether it's blatant or by omission - and politicians play a game of chicken with each other and their supporters.

Politicians are the ones degrading democracy with this "strategy."
What people don’t understand about the Althia Raj story is that it is one thing for politicians to lie to Canadians it is a whole other thing for the Prime Minister to lie to a Cabinet Minister, an opposition leader, and the Premier of British Columbia. #cdnpoli

The Liberal team successfully fought off their right flank and attracted purple voters.

If they don't evolve and adapt to ALL Canadians' concerns, not just the trade-exposed ones (mostly boys), they will lose some peach/salmon coloured voter (mostly girls) in the next electoral test.

A hot take during this episode is that reflecting on one's leadership style would be seen as weak.

NO.

Leaders who are able to reflect build stronger teams because they actually know their weaknesses and find team members to fill those gaps.

I just had a paper declined by a journal. The paper was on co-creation with AI (and outlining the problems).

Rejection with critical feedback is fine but the part that stands out is the excerpt I explicitly cited as AI was, "so interesting."

I'm sorry, the highest compliment went to AI. WTAF
