Work continues, and I settled on a 'style' of sorts for the texturing - mainly keeping the colours fairly flat with semi-painterly textures for the roughness (slope blur continues to be peak). Wings still WIP and no karma display yet.

Jusant is truly peak. Played it on game pass but I'm definitely going to buy it on Steam when I can, partially for the soundtrack and also because Don't Nod deserve every cent for the phenomenal game and absolutely incredible art

Taking on a few things I'm not familiar with modelling, including wings. They don't look too bad for a first attempt, but I'm going to soldier on. One issue is that they become rather fluffy and circular when closed, but become much more detailed and 'realistic' when they open up

Have been tryna avoid doing hair because its tricky for a multitude of reasons, but I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get on with it. Ena's hair can be especially hard because theres barely any images of her from non-front-on angles I can use as refs xd

Was hoping to do a neat parallax effect on the pink eyes, but that tends to break when used on rounder surfaces, so I had to use proper displacement which has it's own issues :/

Lil test I wanted to try, as I'd been wondering how to make a shutter like this for sometime. Turns out, I'd been overthinking it

Right side is FK, Left is an IK set-up, with each bone on the right copying the rotation of the IK bone it's colour corresponds to.

I faced this issue last year and had to make a kinda-scuffed solution back then due to time constraints and priorities that used VFX graph and had the desync issue, so I'm glad I was able to actually make a proper solution this time

particle, the sound wouldn't sync up. It also was likely causing a memory leak somehow. Thankfully, the older particle system made it a hell of a lot easier to execute code upon droplets colliding with surfaces! [2/3]

took a while, but I abandoned the VFX graph route in favour of creating a water droplet system using good ol particles

Due to VFX graph GPU/CPU stuff, when attempting to execute code upon a droplet hitting a surface and spawning a splash [1/3]

Had to switch to a new Unity project and copy stuff over, because the 1st version somehow got a memory leak in the HDRP files that I was not qualified to look into. I'd never even seen that memory leak warning before.

And now the 2nd version has a wireframe flicker issue :/

Making some good progress, unfortunately had to remove the planar reflection on the water because things like reducing resolution to 64x64 still caused framerate drops (also HDRP itself has magically spawned some memory leaks)

-and slower flicker. In the end it didn't work so well, and I just created a new system where every second (speed of the timer can be slowed) it'll pick a value between the min and max flicker levels and lerp to that. Kinda like FPS and interpolation, and works just as well xd

tried making a tweakable light flicker script. Set min and max levels, then thresholds, and the randomly-generated light level would only apply if it was below or above the thresholds. By slowing it down like that, the hope was to make a less extreme- [1/2]
