When we look at the shadows and explore the hidden corners of our inner selves, our outer world becomes more beautiful as a reflection of it 💙🖤

The real work isn’t becoming someone new.
It’s unlearning who the world told you to be.

You were never broken—
just buried under layers that were never yours to carry.

Healing isn’t just about the trauma. It’s about the shame, the disbelief, and the silence that followed. When you weren’t protected. When you weren’t believed. If that’s been your story—I see you. You deserved better.

The ocean gives and it humbles 🌊🏄‍♂️

One moment, you’re riding high, feeling like you’ve mastered it.
The next, you’re reminded who’s really in control.

And whether you’re standing on the shore or riding the wave,
it always leaves you feeling something.

One of those places where, as you walk the trail in, the closer you get to the beach, the more everything spills out of your mind. The noise, the busyness, the weight of the day… gone. Replaced by misty waves, salt air, and the pull of the tide. 🌊

This little spot in Goldstream Provincial Park is tucked right off the highway. Some say the traffic noise takes away from the experience but for me once I’m lost in the greens, the moss, and the light filtering through the trees, the rest of the world fades away.

Walking back after a gorgeous sunset on Dallas Road, I turned around and caught this view.

One more for the #BlueSkyArtShow #windows theme. This is late afternoon at the Inner Harbour with the sun reflecting on the windows of the buildings and the city reflected back on the calm water.

Those first golden evenings of the season, the kind that pull people outside, eager to soak in that warm light.

Still a cold breeze, but the warm colors of the sunset balance it out. The calm, shared presence of strangers, all taking it in.

Some beauty can’t be tamed.

A tangled silhouette, a horizon set on fire, and the ocean reflecting it all back. Nature’s perfect kind of chaos.

The fleeting beauty of cherry blossoms always brings me back to my childhood trip to Japan. ‘Hanami’ the cherished tradition of flower viewing, reminds us to embrace each moment.

This is Mt Rundle in Banff National Park during the forest fires of 2018. Fires are getting worse every year. If you want to visit, come early in the season. I say May or June.

What happens when we experience trauma, PART 3

Did you know other mammals shake/tremor to release the energy from trauma?

Humans are not the *only* ones who experience trauma.
