This is also why “colored functions” arguments are retrograde in the same way as defenses of GOTO: it is useful for the language to distinguish functions which synchronize from those which don’t. async markers are an advancement toward a better analysis of program structure.
This means in a program using GOTO, the program reader is responsible for reconstructing the structure of the program in their head; is this GOTO a conditional, an iteration, a subroutine, a raised exception? We introduced differentiated control flow so that you can tell what the jump is there for.

i want people who get riled up about "function colors" to tell me whether they view the difference between `fn foo() -> String` and `fn foo() -> Result<String, Error>` to also be an example of problematic function coloring
