In an academic program in high school, someone was talking shit about trade schools and creative work. To get them to shut up I applied for a creative program (at a trade school) in front of them.

I loved the program, so I went straight into the industry.

Not only did I make good progress despite some heavy writer's block, but I also hit my goal for the whole month!
Because of this, my goal has since shifted to "See how much I can get done".

I'm feeling pretty damn good.

Right now I'm just excited to be getting closer to finishing this first draft.... it's got a lot problems, but that's okay.

I usually take a different approach each time, because my situation each time is different.

This past week, I just muscled through. I'd write a single sentence, then walk away as I scraped my brain for another one. Long process, but it (kinda) worked.

Best way I can describe it is a lack of thought towards the project I'm working on. Mind blank, head empty.
Not a lack of feeling, but just not a lot of critical thinking towards whatever's going on on the page.

It's 100% a thing, and I experience it all the time. This week in particular I had some decent writer's block.
A lot much goes into writing, so it's perfectly normal to feel creatively stumped. It sucks, but it's normal

There was a rebellious comfort that came from being on HRT. Like flipping off God before running head-first into the open arms of a sin. There were moments where I was so relieved to be who I was. Other times, though, it was a bruise of a reminder. I could never forget how easily Kahorn had said ‘transgender’. I tried the word in my mouth, forcing my tongue to form the syllables and working my throat to make the noises. It didn’t sound right; it didn’t feel right. As though I shouldn’t be saying it, an almost-slur. ‘Transgender’ meant something different. Someone to be hated. Someone who was hated for a reason. Because why else would they be hated? They had done something wrong. Desperately, I didn’t want to be trans. I didn’t want to be hated. I just wanted to be Callum.

I think I've just been made more aware of my writing progress then I would've been otherwise, but it's been wicked helpful.

I've learned quickly what I struggle with and excel at, so being able to focus on how to better my writing is a genuine gift
