I'm an occasionally clever fan of many things. he/him.
Its the time of year when I always keep a properly stocked pantry full of broths. There is little better than a nice soup on the winter.

I think there has to be a sweet spot in reality between a nihilistic "this doesn't matter" response & a "this failed so the Dems are losers again" response and I don't know what that is.

It is not going to work while the GOP is in power. It is not going to make the floor while the GOP is in power. Depending if it was privileged or not it is not going to make committee. So knowing all that what is the proper messaging on something the majority will quickly bury?

I guess I meant more how to successfully platform the attempt whole acknowledging and educating those who don't understand our system that this purely symbolic for the time being.

Asking in all honesty, because it is easy to introduce an AoI but just as easy for the majority to bury it in committees how do the Democrats use just the filing of the article in messaging?

This week we're also specifically focused on the way that online age verification laws threaten access to information about abortion and reproductive health.

Not just for young people (which is bad enough) but for EVERYONE.

Privacy, antitrust, and algorithmic justice laws would do a lot more to protect kids than age verification, but lawmakers are always looking for the "easy fix" so they can say they protected kids without actually doing anything to address the harmful surveillance capitalist biz model of Big Tech

The House just held a hearing on 19 (!!) bills related to "kids safety" including several that could mandate online ID checks / age verification, like KOSA and the SCREEN Act.

But the reality is that online ID checks would actually make kids LESS safe, not more safe. www.stoponlineidchecks.org
