UPDATE: A federal judge broadened the scope of an earlier temporary restraining order, blocking Trump from deporting anyone under the Alien Enemies Act while the case proceeds.

It's weirdly difficult to remember that Trump's popular vote margin was /less/ than Hillary's in 2016. Biden got more votes in 2020 than Trump got in 2024 and Trump surrogates all under-performed in congressional races.

This is not a mandate, I don't get why it is being portrayed that way.

UPDATE: The county brought in helicopters and several battalions of firefighters, including incarcerated firefighters, to protect the nearly 5,000 incarcerated people and staff of the jail until the fire was under control.

URGENT: The LA Sheriff's Department and Board of Supervisors has yet to evacuate at least 4,700 people who are incarcerated just 5 miles from a wild fire that broke out hours ago.
