An argument I've seen against unionization is that workers demanding better from employers will only incentivize bosses to replace them with AI. There is nothing you can give to or give-up for a growth-obsessed CEO that would discourage them from trying this regardless. Fight for what's yours now.

Most horrifying part of this imo is that this country never *stops* funding these things once they start. We've never closed Guantanamo, we've never shuttered Homeland Security. The potential damage here lasts forever.
More context of scale for the #ICE budget.
We are going to war with ourselves.

Especially if you're on the fence about it, protest today. Fascism is isolating and lonely. Its very goal is to make you feel like you're the only person unwilling to accept a cult of personality. On days like today you fully realize there are more of us than there are them. You will feel better.

Killing all gaming media on the eve of a big console launch and a few months before what will likely be the biggest video game of all time is smart and well thought-out business from people that definitely do not spend all day eating their own shit.

Good thing we are protecting children from knowing what a 4 of a kind is and letting them watch CS case opening videos instead

saying that games were $100 in the 90s isn’t a reason to justify prices steadily rising in 2025, especially when our salaries aren’t rising as well

Gaming shouldn’t be an elitist hobby

I’ll argue value for consumers every time

I would have called myself conservative up until roughly my early 20s. I had some pretty shitty beliefs, too! Unshockingly, all it took to break away was actual, real-world exposure to people with different belief systems to realize a lot of what I'd been told about other people was a lie.
"A young conservative went on to change her mind as an adult" is an extremely common life path IRL, but on here, an amazing number of people seem to assume it's unfathomable. If you think people can't interrogate their inherited beliefs, that suggests *you've* never done so

This article about the impact of Project 2025 on video games was ignored by many last year. But the SCREEN act was just resubmitted so maybe take another look.

"...expanding the definition of pornography in vague and uncertain terms may mean video games... could be targeted by such legislation..."
Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
