I’ll be here from now on to discuss movies, cats, dogs, getting tattoos, and smoking stogies. And none of whatever the hell it was that was going on in that other place.
Marched on DC in 2013 for my civil rights never knowing I was marching for my sister’s civil rights too. I’m so happy and so emotional today. People who say “Don’t make it political” can go sit on it and spin.

I know little of football but the “Goooooo Eagles!!!” bit in THE HUDSUCKER PROXY is one of my favorite things. A Muncie girl!

Yes, I Nos it’s Robert Eggers’ moment this month but I’m ringing in the new tonight with a bottle of Transylvanian wine and Frank Langella’s awesome disco hair Dracula. Ah ah ah ah, stayin’ undead, stayin’ undead.

Ah, the days between Christmas and New Years where you don’t have to do anything and not a SECOND of it is relaxing.

No Christmas would be complete without it.

The people cheering for you in NES Paperboy have no faces.

Just a reminder that Roy Burns was a perfectly fine Jason. Also poor Vinny + Pete in their cute leather gear are my favorite F13 couple.

Ready to make some poor and permanent life decisions again. Great job. Mom would be so proud.

Watched John Carpenter’s Christine last night. Seen it many times, it’s never quite done it for me. Something must have been in the air because it just played so well for me last night and I couldn’t take my eyes and ears off the screen.

Oh well! Excuse me for looking. Pardon me for taking your tapeworm infested ass off a disgusting Brooklyn rooftop 3 years ago so you could lounge on my warm blankets and eat grain free salmon bites all day.

I guess I’m DePalma’ing this weekend. I haven’t seen this one. Maybe I’ll rewatch The Fury next!
November 24, 2024 at 5:51 AM
There should be a word or phrase for when you’ve forgotten a movie enough to rewatch it with almost fresh eyes. I watched the 2016 directors/fan recut of DePalma’s RAISING CAIN last night. Crazy how much better it worked for me.

Had dinner on the Upper West Side. It had a chalky undertaste. #TannisAnyone?

it made me sad for a moment to think about how there are probably people out there that don't know there is a whole fake netflix site full of the fictional movies and shows referenced within movies and shows

I’m like 25 posts deep on this thing but before we go any further I must tell you…There will be cats.

Nonsense. I like turning it on for interior scenes and turning off for exteriors so that The Godfather looks like a 1970s British sitcom.
As the holidays approach, remember that changing your parents’ and older relatives’ smooth motion settings is not only a kindness, but righting a wrong. Every time I see SM in action, I’m aghast at the abomination. The Godfather is not supposed to look like a soap opera.

Took a chance on a ticket lottery and scored front row seats the Death Becomes Her musical. It was a blast. These movie adaptations are usually so thin or just plain theme park rides. This was a damn good and very entertaining night at the theater.

We don’t talk enough about Bell, Book, and Candle! Pyewacket is of the great cats of cinema.

Hey I liked this a lot. It’s full of goofy logical flaws (daytime pop concerts? concert ticket receipts???) but I had tons of fun with it.
