Our first widespread snow of the season arrives Sunday. Winter Storm Albatross begins Sunday PM and wraps up before sunrise on Monday. A widespread 6-8” expected inland with isolated totals up to 10”. Totals will be closer to the 4-6” range along the shoreline. Details all weekend on @wfsb.com

Pretty impressive how the warm start to January has kept our average temperature (so far) quite above average. Also, not much snow so far this month, or this season. We cross the halfway point of January later this week, plenty of time for things to change!

Been watching the ensemble trends for the last few days as we approach the end of January. With a possible flip to a +NAO/-PNA, and a weak La Niña in place, could bring milder conditions heading into late winter and early spring. The CPC outlook for Feb/Mar/Apr agrees with higher chances for warmth
