Judges are not “roadblocks”. They are, by design, protectors.

He says (paraphrased) administrative warrants allow agents to enter homes and remove convicted criminals. The fact that they are entering homes & removing people who are NOT convicted criminals is exactly why we need judicial protection.

I’d take it a step further, for the rest of us: we need to condemn the Republican Party for much of what is happening. It’s not one man. It’s an entire party of collaborators and enablers.

Please, please, let’s talk a lot more about the contributions immigrants make to the country. The current argument only seems to focus on a) the “threat”, and b) “fairness”. Immigrants are the backbone of America, and we’re not talking enough about how we are all better for their presence.

We need to talk a lot more about exactly what the Constitution says about the role of the states in the conduct of elections.

I would love to hear a long, detailed discussion about the origin and intent of the phrase “protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”

I don’t like her, and I don’t think she’ll ever be a nice person, but I accept her as an ally. People are complicated. If my racist MAGA uncle started expressing doubts, I’d welcome him to the tent, without necessarily forgiving his hate. We’ll never draw them back if we refuse to welcome them back.

If he thought he was the best man for the job, why is his only option to withdraw rather than to switch parties or become an independent? I’m sick to death of the partisan hatred these people have.

I want to believe that, but that assumes a level of organization, planning, and management that I’m quite sure doesn’t exist within DHS. This is much more likely just the result of hiring and fielding unqualified, untrained hoodlums.

Fred, our biggest failure after Trump left office the last time was not enacting guardrail laws to prevent him, or someone else, from doing this kind of authoritarian crap. Even if he can’t hold office again, someone like him will try. Do you have a legislative plan for that?
