Whooper Swans are now heading north. This group take a rest for an hour off the Cumbrian coast and let the flood tide take them closer to Scotland.

Monitoring farmland birds in winter last week. Good numbers of Yellowhammer, Reed Bunting and Tree Sparrow, Snipe, Grey Partridge and this delightful high rise House Sparrow residence at Red Hall Farm.
