New lot of St. George's flags making more inroads on lampposts today. Are councils going to meekly acquiesce to murals of Farage on sides of houses next?

Dice seem to have the least add on charges to tickets if you don't mind adding another app but this alert makes it sound like I'm about to be hit with some home truths.

Probably won't get to see the Beths tonight with the GM bus strike and its knock on effects. From Setlist FM they appear to be playing ten tracks from a newly released LP. They are good tracks but that's too many: need to allow a little bedding in!

Sitting in a customary spot under an oak tree while my lad practices running but may move as, judging by the sound of acorns crashing to the ground, they may well be painful landing on your head.

An autistic relative has passed their English GCSE at 4th attempt, enabling them to progress their ambitions in the education system. In a system designed for and by neurotypicals, it’s a massive achievement for all those who achieve this against the odds.

Went in a Buxton Cafe and spotted Edwina Currie. Afterwards, when I mentioned it to the barista (under 50 & unfamiliar with the ex politician) she raised an eyebrow and said 'And the only comment I made to her was to complement her dogs on their behaviour'.

Past reviews of The Salt Path book by & large praised it. The few from past that said 'This doesn't ring true' should have that on their CVs if applying for analysis type jobs.

Today's CaleGreen Park summer Fair (juxtaposed with pic of same area from 2019 with our lad in Nick Drake 'watching the world go by' mode).

The year long closure of the Greek St roundabout has made it pleasant to travel on its quiet artery roads. With these historical human bones being unearthed it’d be fine for them to prolong closure with an investigation only to reveal something like ‘We think the person died of the bubonic plague’.

The Liverpool supporting half of the family went to the Premiership celebrations today. Nice of the first team squad to allow K-2SO from Star Wars Rogue One to join them on the open top bus.

Needing to learn to the art of horizontally consistent cardboard compression with this switch to monthly cardboard/paper recycling collections.

Watched We are Fugazi from Washington DC on the big screen. All the footage was filmed by followers from the time and was close up & visceral with the pulsating crowd. Felt like there should have been sweat dripping from the cinema ceiling.

The nearest barber to Stockport County's ground; a blue hair dye manufacturer will have done well out of the team's Division One play off challenge.

Liking the new Suzanne Vega album. Still has that recognisable wistful voice and a band behind her knocking out those songs with some versatility.

Spent a fruitless few minutes searching for more on a band I heard on Oui FM translated as Coal Black only to find that they are, as a French band, the the cooler sounding Coal Noir.

I do like those gestures you see when musicians have pulled off a tricky bit of music like James Yorkston doing a low key fist pump or Hugh Cornwell shaking his drummer's hand after a song. One such moment during this when the vocalist high fived✋ our lad for his 🎹 play after a cover of StarMan.

A sparrow got into our empty guinea pig hutch through some loose upper wire that had previously buckled (under pressure of a cat?). A magpie was circling outside. Ushered this away & lifted up hutch. Sparrow eventually swooped away. Glad we were around to spot all this

My top tip from removing rust from stainless steel utensils - caused by an excessive salt overfill in the dishwasher - is to soak them in lemon juice left over from pancake day.

The usually hideous Greek Street roundabout being closed for a year may not have gone down well with local Facebook groups but it sure means a more pleasant, quieter and less swivel headed ride for cyclists on this space and adjoining road.

The sound of high winds is that of tumbling wheelie bins. Saw out the last hour of British Winter time (12-1am) by collating some dispersed cans & bottles.

Accompanied our lad for a keyboards exam at the at the C Bechstein piano centre which I was hitherto unaware of. Planted in Manchester's centre but insulated from all around it within its own classical grandeur.

Often struck at the anguished reactions to driving bans in court and how the defence will plead against one. No-one ever says "Well I suppose it'll be the bus for me for the time being"

I'd like more bands to book gigs at a theatre with a box office (= no extra charges). Just bought a ticket for Black Country, New Road from a gent in a booth at Stockport Plaza which was quite satisfying.
