Was a teacher, still a cynic.
A right wing government would see this as an opportunity to appoint the most right wing DG they could find.
The government must take the opportunity to appoint the most left of centre person they can find.
Be like them. Take your chances as and when they present themselves.

Distinct lack of consistency of thought.

Every picture tells a story.
Sadly no one is listening to the tale these two tell.
It’s been put in the box “too difficult”.

A “pay-per-mile” tax for EVs was always coming, because the tax loss from fuel duty will be so great, but this seems like a particularly regressive way of going about it.
A better way would be use MOT data which all appears to be online now anyway to get a better mileage figure.

See, I would have hoped that by now police would have systems that highlighted in real time the links between such offences and flagged them for some kind of concerted action.

I would argue that the better improvement would be to offer single sciences rather than triple science.
This is based almost entirely on personal prejudice, having taken Physics and Chemistry at GCSE. I had zero interest in studying Biology.
This will help with the Physics teacher issue.

In Northern France (Noyelles-sur-mer) there’s a medium sized war grave mainly filled with Chinese labourers who were brought over to dig trenches and then died of flu in 1918/19. Truly was a world war.

Oh no, poor man, he’s having to go and live in a different big house on a different royal estate with different servants. How terrible for him. He must have been really bad to merit such a horrible punishment.

If you earn £1m you take home over a half of it. Having over half a million pounds put in your bank account each year is not a burden.
Share out the income more equally, remove the burden of low pay, and you automatically bring more equality to the tax system.
Poverty is the real burden, not tax.

The racists really need to make up their minds. Are there too many, or too few black people in the country? Which is it?

This comes under the general heading of "when you're accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression".
There’s no good reason for partnerships to be able to avoid NI in this way.

Everything else the Trump administration is doing, the shutdown, Gaza peace process, Ukraine, hiding the Epstein files, all this is to provide cover for Miller to create his police state, to decapitate the Democrats, to rig the voting.
