Was a teacher, still a cynic.
The, er, contretemps over Greenland will tell us just how much viable resistance to Trump and his regime exists in both the GOP and in the military establishment. i.e., how successful was Milley.

So it begins.

The media showing exactly how well it intends to bring scrutiny and accountability to British politics. In much the same way as it failed with Johnson and Truss. www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...

I’m wondering if Hannan is so stupid that he believes what’s happening is simply some whim of Trumps? Fact is, he’s just the front man, the patsy.

Tbf though, there’s plenty of journalists and commentators who seem to have the same belief.

Yeah, because tariffs are the important issue here.

It’s a simple and undeniable truth that were we to have a Reform government it would act as little more than a US vassal state, implementing every one of Trumps whims.

There’s probably some truth to the idea that the American “Golden Dome” system would ideally locate some infrastructure on Greenland. And it’s clearly the case that Trump has been convinced they can’t place any such technology outside of US territory.
Time to stop humouring them and time to tell them to do one. The option of reciprocal tariffs worked for China, time to do that as a European bloc.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the US regime are looking for an excuse to suspend their membership of, or withdraw from NATO. Possible that’s always been the end game.

Can’t quite put my finger on why I don’t like this idea, but I don’t like this idea.

On the plus side I suspect in the medium term his defection will kill Reform. Unless they chuck him out first.

Turn a song by making it about the Tories.

I’ll start.

“It’s their party and and I’ll cry with laugher if I want to.”

Based on my zero years of Premiership coaching experience I’d say that defenders might be able to defend corners a bit better if they concentrated more of the flight of the ball and less on trying (and continually failing) to hold the attackers still.
