It’s not being done to meet any targets - there aren’t any targets that GPs have to meet

Yet last month another record number of appointments were delivered in GP practices

GPs are trying very hard to make it work as well as they can

Why am I here?
3 years ago I gave up being a a GP Partner
But I have been fighting for Primary Care for all of us
It’s selfish really wanting a GP for me, my kids & everyone
I don’t have vested interests or conflicts of interest, posts here & media work is unfunded
Happy to inform

GP Practices / Social Care / Charity Sector all hit by NI Tax

At a time when Labour committed to funding community care & to ‘Bring back the Family Doctor’ this will hit services hard unless funding is increased now not 2025/26

Commitment needed now to stop redundancies/cuts

Let me help you Wes Streeting @teamlabouruk.bsky.social

GP partnerships are providing 5m more appointments a month compared to 2019

30million half the population

2million is the total A&E attendances a month

End the partnership model & I can guarantee A&E waits will double/treble

It used to be 1 GP per 1800 in 2015

500 more patients per GP
20% less funding
GP Practices closing
GPs leaving
GPs unemployed

@teamlabouruk.bsky.social
Now is the time to fix this not 2025/26

Community Neighbourhood Centres over 6000 of them
GP practices underfunded (20% cut since 2016), overlooked & still there providing 30million appointments a month (5m more than 2019)
Wes Streeting wants to reform them 🤷🏻‍♂️

Fund them and they will do the rest @teamlabouruk.bsky.social

Can’t get an appt with a GP?

Yet there are 1000s of GPs out of work or struggling to find work
NHS England have cut the equivalent of 2 full-time GPs in funding from an average practice, whilst funding ‘additional’ roles via ARRS

£2bn cut in real term

Not additional then🤷🏻‍♂️ youtu.be/tI69wqP1_3g?...

General Practice operates on £0 deficit model.

Budget & overall share of #NHS funding has been shrinking despite nearly 20% more activity.

#TeamGP has embraced tech innovations, new ways of working.

Partnership model isn’t at fault for not meeting patients needs.
End GP partnership model to help A&E waits, says NHSE lead
The NHS needs to take more "radical" steps to improve emergency care waiting times, including making primary care a salaried service, a senior national clinical lead has said.

Looking at 2022/23 GP pay data

GP partner earnings fell back to 2018/19 levels following a couple of elevated years mostly due to Covid vaccine income

Salaried GPs are flat compared to 2019/20

Partners are -19.3% and salaried GPs -17.9% in real terms compared to 2006/07

Yet 20% more appts done
