Five years ago my wife and I moved from Leicestershire to Lincolnshire where we bought a fairly run down old cottage and have spent time slowly restoring it.
Back from a few days in Leicester visiting friends.
Also visited the new Jewry Wall museum (well worth it).

Found this in the garden with my metal detector.
Quite common WW1 army button-/-but I think I know who this belonged to. When I looked at the 1921 census I found a lady and her three children were living in our cottage at this time.

Back in the 90s Tim and I worked together in the brewery at the Phantom & Firkin in Loughborough, happy days.
This was a Monday morning when he came in with a black eye, (he’d been playing rugby).😊

At this time tea was 40 shillings a pound (equivalent to over £200 in todays money).

Silver half-hunter pocket watch by Benjamin Webb, London 1809.
I bought this in auction at a very reasonable price.
At first I was confused by the dial being the wrong way round but on doing some research found this was the way they were made. Runs well and keeps reasonable time for age.👍
