Working in infosec, but trying not to be insufferable about it.
I wish this was right, but I think Trump already has SCOTUS support for all the powers necessary to effect a purge of the legislature and rule by decree. If ICE arrested and deported Members of Congress after the 2026 elections, I’m not sure who would stop them.

It also really just robs any joy that comes from re-reading and seeing a deeper meaning. It's like the only valid way to read is at a surface-level with just enough comprehension to write a Wikipedia synopsis.

I just know this is Rob Saka’s fault.

And I'll just say, I'm *extremely* dismal on whether FedRAMP and DISA and all the other security compliance programs do any good, but this is one situation where having an auditor come in and ask questions about responsibility for security controls would be pretty good!

(we'll just set aside for now the fact that Purview is only authorized at IL4, and the Yemen war plans data is, at minimum, IL6). learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/...

The general rules of the road are the agencies can authorize what they want as long as an official with sufficient authority assumes responsibility for the risks. I'd like to know who that official is at the White House.

Unfortunately, TeleMessage gates most of their docs behind a Smarsh login, but we’ll assume their suggested M365 deployment is typical, since Microsoft’s docs are public. In that scenario, TeleMessage is still hosting data for at least 24 hours between syncs. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/purvie...
Set up a connector to archive Signal communications data in Microsoft 365
Admins can set up a TeleMessage connector to import and archive Signal communications data in Microsoft 365. This lets you archive data from third-party data sources in Microsoft 365 so you can use co...

TeleMessage will probably defend itself in the coming days by saying that it’s just a software provider, not covered by FedRAMP or the DISA Cloud Services SRG.

So, FedRAMP isn’t the right compliance program to look at here. For military data, we’d look at the Defense Information Security Agency (DISA)’s well-concealed CSO list (TeleMessage is also not there). public.cyber.mil/dccs/cso/

We don’t even get local control because they get to demand upzones in other neighborhoods! bsky.app/profile/eric...
Dan Strauss saying he may change the Comprehensive Plan proposal for Magnolia because some homeowners in a Magnolia Community Council brought him a plan to downzone from the current plan and upzone some unknown location instead. This is a bad way of creating zoning policy for neighborhoods!
