A new playcaller/OC is almost certainly warranted and Drink absolutely does need to adopt a more aggressive in-game mindset if he wants to take this program to the next level but….COME ON.

-Horn and Craig out for the year in the first game

-Lose by inches at home to Alabama

-Starting QB goes down against Vandy, lose by inches

-Missed TD against Oklahoma

Close to a playoff team. Didn’t get the breaks we needed. Win next week and go portal shopping.

“Anticipating the Arrival of our Soldiers, 1945”, which depicts a train of soldiers arriving into Washington after serving in World War II. Gary’s works covered a lot of time periods, but he always made sure to include his dog (front and center) in every painting

All else aside…

Man, after all these years, nothing beats a Saturday gameday. The tailgating, the atmosphere, the spirit, the postgame celebrations, all of it. You wait all year for the home slate, then it finally gets here, and after half a dozen Saturdays, it’s over.

This was my second game I attended this year, and I have to say, considering the CFP is out of reach and MSU isn’t a marquee opponent, I thought the atmosphere was great. It was sold out, the crowd was loud and into it. Wouldn’t always be the case in past years for a game like this.

It’s been a problem for this team all season long, and honestly throughout Drink’s tenure. Feels like there’s 3-4 times a game when the Tigers are about to get off the field on third down, only to keep the drive alive with a dumb penalty.

I’m not going to waste time complaining about the officiating (which was garbage, and sadly par the course for this conference at this point), but there were still several legitimate penalties on Mizzou that kept MSU in the game for too long (con’t)

Toriano Pride began his Faurot Field career with a Pick 6, and ends it with a Pick 6. I know he’s been up and down, but I think he’s played well the last couple of weeks, and cool to see him close out his career like that.

A big night for the STL DBs, Marvin Burks and Toriano Pride. Both had a pick 6 (can’t remember the last time I’ve seen two Pick 6s in a game), and Pride recovered the botched MSU field goal nearly running it back for a touchdown.

A growth game from Zollers. Wasn’t amazing but didn’t need to be with how well Mizzou was running the ball. 2 TDs and his first win against an SEC opponent.

Ahmad Hardy: 25 carries, 300(!) yards, 3 TDs. Good things happen when you give him the ball. Imagine that.

Sports fandom, especially at the college level, gets passed down from generation to generation. And when you price out your fans who aren’t in the 1%, don’t be surprised when you lose fans (and their wallets) 10-20 years down the line.

In that photo, Gary had told us, “If I had to write a chapter about this in my book, it would be called, ‘The Week.’”

“The Mint gets letters with pennies taped to notebook paper. Letter from citizens who found the pennies on the street and mailed them back to the Treasury to help pay down the debt.”

“It’s almost hard to believe that plan hasn’t worked”
