I watched some of the Murray - Smith podcast and a bunch of clips online. Being smug/condescending is tolerable & maybe even mildly charming if your arguments are valid & incisive, e.g., Hitchens. If they're not, you look like the world's biggest clown &/or asshole, i.e., Murray.

Watched "Before the Devil Knows you're Dead" this weekend, not sure how I've never seen it, i am a big fan of Philip Seymour Hoffman and it is from 2007. It was very good, highly recommend.

It cannot be the case that, in the United States of America, the Department of Justice can publicly be ordered to ignore corruption cases because the crook said nice things about the president. That is the whole ball game. We would not be a nation of laws but a mafia state.

Just watched Tom Green's documentary about himself. Anyone who remembers him from the 90s and early 00s will enjoy it, I think. His parents seem like the most lovely people in the world and it is quite touching how he moved back to Ottawa to be close to them.

I hate to admit it but I am starting to think Will Stancil is based.
They literally have not shown this. The 2024 results do not show this. It is a myth you have constructed in your head to match what you already believed
I mean I agree. On the other hand, voters have shown again and again they don't fucking care about anything but muh egg prices. It sucks but it's the electorate we have.

One problem for Democrats is that so many of their leaders are people like Jeffries and Pelosi, who rose to power by working insider networks in deep-blue states and districts, and have literally no idea how mass communication or persuasion work in this country
